The Nancy Ovens Trust is a Charity that works with support from the Scottish Government to recognise, develop and emphasise the importance of Play in the development of children.

It makes the Annual Scottish Play Awards that recognise best practice in Play in four key areas:

  • Play at Home;
  • Play at Nursey
  • Play in the Community; and
  • Positive Support for Play

We are seeking up to three new Trustees to join the Board.

We have some exciting plans for the future of the Awards…… But we need your help. We need people who are passionate about the importance of Play and would like to use their skills and expertise to drive the work of the Charity forward, in particular, best practice in Play for children.

Are you interested in being a trustee? You will be a Board Member of the Charity – you will be a Director, a Trustee. You will uphold and promote the core policies, purpose, values and objectives of the Charity. You will contribute to the development of strategy of the Charity and help to meet its compliance duties. Your inspiration and commitment will be needed to ensure that the Charity continues to deliver its core function.

A passion for the task is essential. You should be an excellent communicator both orally and in writing, have experience of working in the Play sector and have organising and management skills. This is a voluntary role but reasonable expenses, such as travel costs, can be reimbursed.

Interested applicants should submit their CV and supporting documentation to the Trust:
